Judging the Pleasure Walking Horse
The UPWHA utilizes the rule book definitions and classifications from the International Judges Association for their classes and shows. IJA is a division of Friends of Sound Horses, and is dedicated, as we are, in promoting and preserving the "true", authentic gaits of the Pleasure Walking Horse. To assist perspective judges, exhibitors as well as spectators in understanding the standards by which our horses are to be trained and exhibited we've included excerpts from the International Judges Association (IJA) rulebook on the following pages on "Gaits of the Pleasure Walking Horse" and "IJA Divisions of Exhibition for the Pleasure Walking Horse".
